I cannot say enough good things about these speedbrakes! I have no idea how I used to fly planes without them. With all the
speed mods, N7621E would really be a handful to slow down without them.
However the biggest benefit is the ability to descend with power so you can manage your cylinder head temps much better.
They are almost just like dropping the gear, except you can use them all the way up to Vne. Did you intercept the glideslope
(using the STEC 60-2 of course) five miles from the FAF and don't want to drop the gear? No problem. Just hit the yoke mounted
button and you will get a nice 500 fpm descent all the to the FAF. Or did ATC just slam dunk you? Still no problem. Hit
the brakes, chop a little power and away you go. No muss, no fuss.
